Back in September, I wrote:
Is it that The West is exhausted — spiritually, mentally, and physically? And, if this is so, is it a permanent disability? Have we reached the end of a long progress that began when Pope Leo crowned Charlemagne on Christmas Day in 800?
Europe appears to be ready to answer ‘Yes’.
But I still think that the relatively young nations of America, Canada, and Australia are merely in a temporary funk, one that can be overcome by a renewed belief in ourselves, the English Speaking Peoples — The Anglosphere. Perhaps even those on The British Isles can be saved. In the three countries mentioned, and most especially in America, the frontier spirit still lives in many of their people’s hearts. And that means they carry in their souls a deep and abiding love of being free, of enjoying liberty, of maintaining The Rule Of Law.
We need to rouse that spirit Winston Churchill spoke of on the floor of The House Of Commons after the Munich Agreement:
I do not grudge our loyal, brave people, who were ready to do their duty no matter what the cost, who never flinched under the strain of last week – I do not grudge them the natural, spontaneous outburst of joy and relief when they learned that the hard ordeal would no longer be required of them at the moment; but they should know the truth. They should know that there has been gross neglect and deficiency in our defences; they should know that we have sustained a defeat without a war, the consequences of which will travel far with us along our road; they should know that we have passed an awful milestone in our history, when the whole equilibrium of Europe has been deranged, and that the terrible words have for the time being been pronounced against the Western democracies:
“Thou art weighed in the balance and found wanting.”
And do not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of a bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in the olden time.
The fact that the Left has taken over all of the nations of The West and that we, the free peoples of The West allowed it to happen, is our Munich Agreement writ large over a whole civilization.
There is still time for the English Speaking Peoples to recover their ‘moral health and martial vigour’, but it must be done soon, or we shall be plunged into a the darkest of Dark Ages.
Well…America doesn’t appear to have either the will or desire for such a recovery…therefore, we can expect a reckoning.
I think Jeff Goldstein has got it right:
But the thing is, there are many of us — and because we are who we are, and we believe what we believe, we are the least likely “subjects” to accept a life of servitude to the State. And so [Arthur] Herman is correct — just as I was, unfortunately, some 7 or so years ago when I predicted a coming irreparable divide — that there will be some sort of reckoning, and the United States as we’ve known it is not likely to survive.
It is the ruling class vs. the rest of us. And more than half of the rest of us are either left wing ideologues and true believers, or else useful idiots of the kind that allow mobs to rob the minority of its rights, its liberty, and its property.
These are dire times. And we ain’t seen nothing yet, I’m afraid: either a monetary collapse or else an attempt to tax and register all weapons owned by law-abiding citizens, will be the point of conflagration, if I had to guess.
And I believe — reluctantly — that such has been the plan the New Left has been working on all along.
Indeed it has. One merely has to read their white papers and books and treatises and essays to see that nearly all the factions of the Left In America want to see The American Experiment collapse, so that they can then set about to build their Utopia on the ruins of it, wipe the slate totally clean [the few who don't favor violent overthrow].
However, what the Left is too ignorant to realize is that there are enough of us who will refuse to be serfs in their new heavenly kingdom — our ‘moral health and martial vigour’ are growing by the hour.
Further, they think that the competing Totalitarian forces in world will leave them be as their engineer their Paradise — tell that to the Mohammedins who have been vigorously infiltrating this country for three decades.
The Leftists will get their collapse of the physical manifestation of America, but they will never destroy the idea that is America, for, as long as one man believes in it, America will endure — ignorant ideologues notwithstanding.
But it won’t be just one man. It will be many men and women…and they will all be armed.

NO RETREAT
