In an excellent post by Darleen Click yesterday that shows how the Democrats and their Leftist Masters are still using Jim Crow Logic to guide their efforts, commentator Squid made this very insightful observation about Leftist Thinking.
The beginning quote is from Chris Matthews:
“why did the Romney folks feel that this is their country to rule?”
Matthews, in his stupidity, once again tips his hand. The question in his mind, as in the minds of his fellow travelers, is always and only “Who is to rule?” He is so far gone that he cannot even recognize a good-faith argument that we wish neither to rule nor to be ruled, but only to live our lives as free men, with dignity and reliance on ourselves, with respect for our neighbors, and with a minimum of interference from the State.
But Chrissie Tingles can’t think in terms outside of The Rulers and The Ruled. The idea that people could live in peaceful cooperation with one another, without an overlord controlling their lives, is so foreign to him that he can’t even understand the terms of the argument. I’d feel sorry for him if he weren’t so high-profile and dangerous.
In Matthews’s statement we see laid bare before us the Leftist Mind: it’s all about Power and Control to them. And, in their ignorance of all that is decent and moral, the Left cannot begin to consider that those in opposition to them are guided by anything other than the same base and crude motivations that rule them in all their thinking. By willfully blinding themselves to the truths that inspire most of the Right, they violate the First Rule Of Warfare: Know your enemy; know what drives them.
The Left believes that Life is ‘solitary, nasty, poor, brutish, and short’ and, therefore, aspires only to gain Power and Control, while those on the Right aspire for something more than base conditions because of their belief in the transcendent and/or because of their belief that an embrace of Right Reason by a community can soften the tragedy that is Life. In other words, the Right believes Man can rise above his base nature, while the Left sees Man as nothing more than a more skilled animal. Life for them is a constant struggle of one species seeking to dominate all the others in the jungle.
Could This Be One Explanation?
