Given the history of this [Mal-]Administration and the fact that, in order to be a Leftist one must reject any and all Shame, I would be willing to bet a large amount of denarii that Glenn Reynolds will be proven correct in this prediction:
…But I’m sufficiently cynical the justice system these days that I wouldn’t be shocked to see a lot of prosecutions of Republicans between now and 2016, prosecutions that would have the effect of undercutting GOP attacks on the rampant corruption of the Obama era.
‘By any means necessary’, ‘whatever it takes’ — these are the ‘principles’ that under-gird all Leftist actions.
We must never forget that the Ideology of Leftism demands that all Morality, all sense of Virtue, must be discarded because, among other reasons, these are the products of ‘un-Enlightened, God-bothering cretins’, and the Quest For The Perfect Person [aka: ‘The New Man’] requires the ‘transcending’ of all Western Values.
So, the Left In America will do whatever is necessary to drag decent people down to their gutter level. By doing this, they hope to send the message: ‘Look…we politicians are all corrupt, but, if you support us, at least we’ll give you free stuff’.
And, sadly, they will more than likely succeed in convincing enough of those low-information-voters that this is true. Combined with the rampant voter fraud they shall commit, these tactics will probably succeed.
A huge effort on our parts will be required to defeat these Despots.
Do we still have The Right Stuff — that old American Vigor?
Even with it, can we overcome the such great odds?
“Be firm, my friends, nor let UNMANLY SLOTH
Twine round your hearts indissoluble chains.
Ne’er yet by force was freedom overcome.
Unless CORRUPTION first dejects the pride,
And guardian vigour of the free-born soul,
All crude attempts of violence are vain.
Determined, hold
Your INDEPENDENCE; for, that once destroy’d,
Unfounded Freedom is a morning dream.”
The liberties of our Country, the freedom of our civil constitution are worth defending at all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair Inheritance from our worthy Ancestors: They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood; and transmitted them to us with care and diligence.
It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle; or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men. Of the latter we are in most danger at present: Let us therefore be aware of it. Let us contemplate our forefathers and posterity; and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. – Instead of sitting down satisfied with the efforts we have already made, which is the wish of our enemies, the necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude and perseverance.
Let us remember, that “if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.” It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers in the event.
